Description
Orfordness 58833 is a site used for environmental testing of Atomic Weapons, reflecting Atkins’ engagement with terrains redolent of hidden states. Landscapes at once elegant and desolate, these images are of that located below the surface of immediate visibility, of subjective states, of the field of the invisible
Orfordness 58833 is of the Bomb Ballistics building at Orford Ness. Orford Ness, located on the Suffolk coast of east England, was used for environmental testing of Atomic Weapons up until the 1970's and for intense military experimentation for over 70 years up until the mid 1980's.
