Through States

In 1992, while living and working in North America, I embarked on a solo road trip from New York City to San Francisco, California. The seven-day coast-to-coast crossing involved driving almost continuously from dawn to dusk. Stopping in the evenings, I would pull into lonely towns, find motels, eat supper, and sleep, dreaming in monochrome visions, of an endless horizon of boundless roads across a great, shadowless land. Now, after over thirty years, having dug out the photographs from their dusty archived box and seeing them anew, I find them vibrant, evocative, and moving, and consider them ready to be hung on walls and seen.
